Our Story
Horizons Savannah is one of over 70 program sites in the National Horizons Network. All Horizons programs are united in our common belief that all children should have love, guidance, and social-emotional and academic support at every developmental stage. Since our inception, Horizons has taken a whole-child approach to enable youth who face inequities in our educational system to flourish.
In 2002, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Paul Pressly, Savannah Country Day School created a Horizons program in partnership with Dr. Marcia McManus, principal at Windsor Forest Elementary School. Horizons Savannah collaborates with three local private schools that provide extensive in-kind space and resources to our program. These partnerships, along with the support of corporate sponsors and individual donors, enable us to serve students from virtually every public school in Chatham County and even some in the surrounding counties.
